Drivers side window switch - DIY repair?

Post by pocketrocket786 »

I have managed to get myself a new Drivers side window switch as my one was a bit dodgy - had to press down really hard for it to do anything for the drivers side window, passenger side switch was perfect.

I now want to repair the switch I took out (either to keep as a backup or sell), question is though is it repairable? I notice now the switch is out that there are two seperate black modules - one for each side, does anyone know if these pop out, they look as if they do but I cant get it out for the life of me

Also if they do pop out, are these available from VW to order - i think replacing the drivers module may to the trick.

Yeah they come out mate but are the worst thing to do ever lol.

Ya need to get a thin bit of metal in-between either side of each switch and push down from the top....

But ya can't repair them mate i tried and the parts where out at the connector

Will work wen u replace them both mate.

You can repair them, they are just bloody fiddle to take apart.

Bit of contact cleaner and a cotton bud once its apart over all the contacts will work wonders.

They're more than that now - more like £15 quid each.

£15.15 full price
£11.(something) cost price

Just brought one the other day randomly
Not that it was overly needed but ordered a load of bits, and that got ordered amongst my stuff.
