Induction kit and full exhaust system... Advice?

Hello, Ive got a Polo 6n2 Gti and want to get a BMC CDA induction kit for it but i cant find one that fits straight onto my car, they always fit the other models apart from mine...
Im guessing I buy another one and modify it to fit properly. Could anyone please tell me what i need to do or buy to do so?

And also i am looking to get a full stainless steel manifold and cat back exhaust but do not know what ones are "Good" so again, advice on different systems would be very useful.

Spend the extra and get a k&n typhoon kit. A bit extra but MUCH better performance. Also looks nice. A few people have them on here and sold their BMC's straight away.

The BMC can be bought new from Kamracing here:

The part number is: CDA70-130

Its a good place to buy it from as you'll need the 90º rubber/silicone bend which fastens the air filter to the inlet manifold and also a breather filter which Kam racing can supply via the link I provided.

As Bradley said, the K&N Typhoon is a meant to be a better kit performance wise as it stops a lot of heat soak. I personally think it looks rubbish in the engine bay and the performance gains are negligible. I'm keeping with my BMC and going to design a ram air induction piping for it.

As for the stainless steel manifold, as far as I'm aware its a Raceland manifold you'll need, BUT.. It's designed for the 1.4 16v engines (mk4/5) so as a result comes with an EGR valve port and stupid heat pipe. It'll need re-welding and smoothing, sometimes bent a little to fit these engines. It's a lot of work for small gains, but that's the nature of the GTi's engine unfortunately.

You can purchase a Ashley 4-1 manifold from Awesome GTI which I am told fits straight on to the Polo & Lupo GTI.
It's mild steel rather than stainless but i'm told offers good gains but I think your best going down the custom manifold route because the aftermarket manifolds never seem to be actually designed for the 1.6 GTI engine.

BMC CDA would be a good choice as would the Pipercross Viper kit or the K&N Typhoon.

As said already iv got a cat back stainless steel system for sale and a viper pipercross with everything needed to fit...

250 for the lot il help you out if you want as it's up for 270 to start......

But yeah k&n typhoon is what is needed as all other kits just suck up hot engine bay air....

The bmc isn't all it's cracked up to be it's a tiny filter housed in thin carbon fibre as the viper is cyclone technology foam and properly formed carbon fibre with proper gains as does the typhoon induction kit.... Looks amazing in the bay check my thread out....

The BMC is designed to prevent heat soak which im sure in most cars works fine but on the GTI its virtually sitting directly on the intake manifold and gets very hot once the engine warms up. If it was side mounted like on the 1.4 8V models it would be fine.

In my opinion I wouldn't waste money on an induction kit. Due to the location of where the air filter is there is little or more often than not no gain in performance. People who have tested on rolling road days have found that they have losted power due to fitting the BMC.

Just stick with the standard airbox and improve your cold air feed.

Agree with Silky V,keep your origional airbox and improve the origional cold airfeed.Ive got a Green cotton filter in my too,id recommend one as it just needs a clean out every so often and can be reused plus it aids breathing a tiny bit.

In terms of performance you are spot on there is very little if any gains at all from fitting an induction kit.
The main reason why people get them is simply the noise they produce

If I want noise I'd do the same as I've done to one of my other cars

Ummm pretty lol,

Mr blobby has purchased my mongoose exhaust and viper induction kit with cold air feed to the oem place so will only suck up cold air....

It will give better throttle response and the extra grunt when needed.
Better airflow is always a plus on any car and he has got the lot cheap as chips so a win win lol....
Plus the viper roars up nicely.... Woom woom
