Well.. My GTi is being sold...

Post by MrP »

Well... My Polo GTi.. probably the best car I've ever owned..

It's reliable, efficient, comfy, precise, has some good pace, sound gorgeous, looks gorgeous and gets comments where ever I go. It's the best car I've owned; but for some reason It's not my favourite.. And I don't know why. It the longest I've ever owned a car which says something really. But I can't put my finger on it.. I just call fall in love with it like I have previous cars.

But anyway, on that note.. I randomly put the car up for sale last week and it's had a deposit put down on it this weekend. It's getting picked up later in the week. So this is my last few days with the GTi....

I'm on a frantic hunt for a replacement as I honestly didn't think it would sell this quick... I'm going old skool again! 8)

So if you know of any decent MK1/MK2 GTi's, Corrado's or the like let me know!

I just want to say thanks for all the advice and support you boys and girls have given me.. It's been a pleasure.. :D

Pleased you've finally got a buyer - Hope it goes through ok! Not so pleased that you're leaving for an older car though haha

Don't tempt me..

I always do this.. Sell my Polo because I'm bored of Polo's and want something else.. Then end up buying another Polo.. I've had about 15 of them now! I mustn't do it again...

I'm already massively regretting selling it..

But I've committed now and just put a deposit down on a oldskool car... Golf Mk2 GTi 8v... Small bumper... Did I hear someone say ABF Conversion? 8)

Its pretty rapid, obviously being an old car it's still crazy light despite size.Unfortunately for you though the small bumper earlier models you have to change alot more in order for it to work fuseboard etc etc.

Be sad to see you leave :( I was looking forward to you turning your GTI in to an absolute track monster!

Be sure to give us a link to your build thread for the mk2 :)

Thanks boys!

I just couldn;t fall in love with the Polo for whatever reason.. I'm an old-skool kinda guy.

Pick up the GTi on Thursday.

@ Bradley.. yeah, an earlier type fusebox, did all the research.. Nothing a bit of splicing can't sort out..

Best thing is.. My insurance is cheaper on a mk2 GTi ABF with 180bhp limit over the Polo Gti 130bhp limit.. Go figure?
