"Polo - The car with a hole"

Post by willson1992 »

In a nutshell, Woke up this morning, my carpets are absolutley soaked in the footwells.

I've had the seats out and had the carpet up, and the foam type cushion thing is sopping wet,

There doesnt seem to be any holes as such, But it's proving to be a pain in the ar$e,

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before, and what was the fix

Car is a 1995 reg' Polo MK4

If its in the front passenger footwell area, its likely that the drains under the scuttle panel are blocked, causing water to run into the cabin air filter route and into the car

Pop the bonnet. and lift up the plastic tray near where the wipers bolt into. Under hear on the righthand side therell be a filter you can see (about A4 size with lots of pleats in it).

Further down on the right therell probably be a s**t load of leaves and dirt - basically these block the drain holes that go into the wings to get rid of rain water etc

Do a search on the forum as i know this has come up before :)
