9N Leather Gear stick replacing

Hello there, i have just recieved my new Gear stick leather gaiter, but im not sure how to do it.
Has anyone replaced one before? I would appreciate for any tips.

not sure on a polo mate, on my passat it was lift the old gaitor up over the knob and unscrew to take the knob off, then there was a clip to prize open to release the gaitor,
on the newer model passat to mine you lift the gaitor up over the knob ans theres like a jubilee style clip to take the knob off so i wouldnt have thought it would be miles different to any of these
