Basically the big ends have gone on my polo gti avy(2001) and damaged the crank, and was wondering if an arc lump (2000) would fit , and also whats the differents ( vvt? ) mounts? )

As far as im aware it will indeed fit,they're practically identical.The ARC has some very minor differences in the casting but other that nothing at all.

As Brad has said its the same engine, slightly different casting on the top block and a different ECU with some different pin numbers but not much apart from that.

Think the newer engines hav VVT. An they also pushed out less emissions then the older engines
