Sh*T fuel economy?

what should my tdi be doing on a combined cycle im getting between 360 - 390 mixed round town and motorway :/ just had the egr serviced dont know if its the remap?

i fairly boot mine around and i average 36 - 40mpg does 50s no problem when i take it easy, i wouldnt complain abt getting 360 - 390 miles to a tank id be quite happy with that. also diesels use more diesel to warm the engine up so in this cold weather if u keep starting the engine up frequently ul use slightly more, a good thing to remember is if ur foot is off the accelerator the engine shuts off the injectors using no fuel whatsoever so if ur going down a hill select a higher gear and take ur foot off and just roll down, it will fairly add up in the end

How long is a piece of string? Without knowing your driving style or what the most/min you've got it's hard to tell. Plus how much do you put in to do 360/390 miles? It'll vary each time. What is your computer saying your MPG is?

You had high 40s last time you posted IIRC, so perhaps you just drive it uneconomically? You won't get good MPG if you use the brakes quite a lot.

i've got a 1.4tdi and a full tank of about 40litres gives me roughly 400-450miles and i'm always averaging around 45-50mpg. like the other guys said, depends how much you fill up, your driving style and also where you drive, i.e. short distances locally, or long distances on the motorway. i've managed to get mine to read around 60-65mpg on the motorway just cruising along at around 60-70mph! whats the rush eh? if you like you car, take the time to enjoy the drive

i used to get 450 a tank but iv noticed the motorway is usually averaging 44 mpg at 70-75 mph when i used to get 47- 49 if i was lucky
i dont drive the car too hard just an couple of 2nd 3rd gear pull...
im hoping you guys are right and its just the weather but i did notice the car is more economical with the remap

Due a service soon? Weather is a factor. As to tank I can empty my tank in 250 miles if I drive hard diesel gets chucked in by the bucket in my car with stuff I have done but still drive at 60 can get over 50mpg easy.

I get around 500-520 before the fuel light comes on and that with lots of short trips in between my 40mile round commute to uni thats on a 1.9TDi PD100 which is completely standard as far as i know although when on the motorway i sit at 60 which saves a hell of a lot of fuel. Also things like not leaving your car idling when your de icing it in the morning saves fuel.
