Help! I have an engine fault code 16955 Brake Swich (F): Implauseable Signal : P0571 Can anyone explain in English what this is and the possible solutions. MY car is a TDI 1.9 diesel registered March 2005 and has 29000 miles on the clock

Anyway,
The fault you are experiencing is typical of brake light switch failure. The error means the ecu in the car cannot see that the brake switch is being applied properly, so it's flagging an error
Replace the switch and the fault will go away.
