A re-mapped 1.4TDI will give our GTI's a good run for their money, maybe not in a straightline but the superior torque will blow the GTI away on the hills

Exactly! Would love a GTi, but that would be a bit of a joke in my current position.

Yes, the 1.4 TDi has more torque than the GTi as standard

It'll be sad to see it go mate, its a gorgeous car and the new owner will be very lucky.

But the new one looks great and i'm sure with a bit of your touch it'll be something amazing. Looking forward to seeing it :)

Congrats tim, look forward to seeing the new wheels. Looks like we are in the same boat. I'm still on the lookout for the right polo tdi workhorse to pop up - it will be a 6n2 though :)

Selling to friends is the best way, i did it with my cupra and my last z3m, its nice to occasionally get updates on whats going on with them

Arranged to pick it up tomorrow night!.

How come you sold the Z3 mate? 6N2 TDi would be awesome 8) I couldn't get one straight off though as It would remind me of the GTi too much.

I haven't mate its just costing way too much to use as a daily so I need something more sensible during the week, a gti lookalike fills that gap nicely :) I can totally understand why you wouldn't want to jump straight into a 6n2 tdi but for me its been so long ill enjoy getting back into something similar again!

Well,, it's gone

I've loved every minute of owning the GTi, it served me so well over the last 4 years.

Spent all Wednesday preparing the GTi for sale, I cleaned it alongside my new car. I forget how well the paintwork scrubs up, puts my new car to shame!

Here they are together:

My new car is a Polo 'GTD'. A 2005 1.4 TDi with the cosmetics of a GTi. More info here:

Thanks for all the feedback I've received on here guys, wouldn't been the same!

I won't be going anywhere, just a section or two down on the main page 8) This new car will keep me up to date on here no doubt.

Looking good Tim, obviously the 6N2 puts the 9N3 to shame :) but the new diesel will be great on fuel and has GTI looks which is cool.

Look forward to seeing what you do with the new motor, I pressume a re-map will be on the cards
