Wont affect it at all

No - just sometimes people turn on ignition when the air bag is disconnected and it flags a fault.

You'll need to get it plugged into vag com to diagnose the actual fault.

i thought so alex. thanks again mate.

alanjwong: cheers mate. i was looking for wheels for ages. and stumbled on the audi replicas on a random google image search. loved them straight away. set the car off i think. my plan is to stay as close to a genuine gti as much as poss apart from alloys, but i like cos of the vw centers. i have sprayed my gti spoiler and need a good day for the laquer and for the tailgate drilling. i have my gti xenons in the post at the mo too (have some plastic polish to clean them up first too) i will then put my xenon kit into the fogs too. will be after a splitter soon. im very tempted to lower it. but i really dont want to mess about too much. and of course i have a remap being done as soon as i can get a wknd off work. :D

Nice update mate

You will love the Xenon headlights, I have mine on all the time whether it be at night or in the heat of summer.

6000K is a good choice too, plenty bright enough 8)

Bradley1983 has a full washer setup available from a GTI. Might be worth contacting him

That golf route wont work in the polo - completely different design.

cheers guys.

i take it i will need the washer system by law/for mot sometime soon. as they are factory fit hid? im finding mixed info...

and also. do the gti xenon auto level.? i never understood this. does this mean it monitors the horizon level and keep the beam true to this? or is it literally the up/down electric level next to the light switch. as the latter would be "manual" leveling surely?

thanks. :D

Yes they do its fully automatic. Theres extra wiring youd need to fit in order to get that working though, and a lot of it.

Thanks again Alex. I think instead of messing with the washers and auto levelling. I will just swap to standard headlights when MOT comes about. At least I know the projectors will not give any intrusive glare to other road users. So that's all that matters to me.

Out of interest if I did Change my mind at a later date what would be needed and involved with the autolevel wiring? If you don't mind that would be great. Is it to do with suspension sensors etc

Thanks.

Good idea, but they will pass an MOT no problem so I wouldnt worry

Xenon controller, loom, both levelling motors, integrating with the ECU. Its alot of work

Will post back results when Done mate. They already look nearly new and I haven't touched the plastic polish yet. Smooth like glass now. Before was full of pits and chips also looked cloudy. Only advce is really take your time with the wet and dry stages. I been at these on and off for the past week. Final stages I will use a rubbing compound and then machine polish to a nice finish then wax them. I found this guide here if it's any help. I see Alex has posted on there too lol.
