It has been done before but yeah your arches would need to be rolled

I would go for 8J's at the back, plenty wide enough and they wont cause you too many problems.

Most things are possible, but 9J is pretty wide dude, would need lots of arch work plus some pretty crazy camber to make it mot'able.

Yeah 8J would be your best bet if you really want to go wide.

In my opinion of course. :)

Dam lol because there are some AWESOME banded steels on ebay and they would suit my car amazingly, I think ill just buy them and see how much work would need to be done to make them fit properly...

If it is too problematic I can always sell them on :)

Are they the 13 inch ones?

If they are good luck fitting them over the std brakes

I'm pretty sure you can get a 14 inch steel over the brakes

I tried on my ex's 9inch wide Keskins on the back of my polo and it looked like it wouldn't move.

Bad idea if you as me, unless you're going to get some arch work done.

13s will not fit whatsover over the brakes
14s will just about clear them, though its tight and if you have a G60 setup, it wont clear.

To fit 9s on the rear requires some serious arch work, and the rear camber incurred is just nuts. Itll shred wheel bearings and tyres in no time

The max you can probably get away with at the front without rolling is 7.5 and you can go to about 8/8.5 at the rear.

Hmmmm, This is really annoying, I dont mind having arch work done as I planned to have it done anway and then get a respray so it looks much better.

These are the ones I was looking at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/mk2-mk3-mk1-golf- ... 4aaa19849d

Do banded wheels come up often for sale?

I really dont know what to do :/ They look amazing and would suit my car well as they are red. I just have no idea about wheels, they confuse me XD

But must people seem to be saying no...

Interesting to see what offset those are as polo offset is different to golf.

Theres always a question of safety on banded wheels due to the quality of welds, steel used etc. Thats one of the main reason alot of people shy away

Cheers for that Verity :) Has helped lots.

Those wheels look amazing :) but only as show wheels it would be stupid to have them as every day wheels XD I'll just have to look for some smaller steels...
