Ha yeah you're not wrong mate, I'll get round to it one day! But at least for the time being I've got a Blue & Black colour scheme going on with the windows/rubstrips/lower bumpers/grills & mudflaps!

How far are you from Teesside? I may be coming up to have a look at a friends TDI conversion in a Mk2 Golf. We should meet up.

Ha Scotty9n yeah I wasn't 100% convinced when I ordered the flaps how they'd look, but now they're on I love them, really chuffed. And they're rubber not plastic so should last!

Ash - LOL - I'm at Newcatle during termtime for Uni but back home is wayyy down South, near Southampton lol. Where are you based? But yeah we should organise a meet at some point.

Looks sweet with the mud flaps. Think I'm gonna put an order in for them. I tried to go to cheap route and get some plastic ones, wasn't happening! Loving the monzas, I'm finding it very difficult getting a set of them. I read before that you were going to pick up some montys, if so I'll take the monzas off your hands:P

Cheers guys, yeah really please with the look of the VAGLiNK rubber mudflaps, and were easy to fit once I was home and had a trolley-jack :) And I fitted the fronts on full lock, just took the back wheels off to fit the rear set. Will hopefully get some pics up tomorrow with the spoiler in place

And by the way I'm not selling the Monza's anytime soon, was looking at a set of Monty's but was too impatient to wait so went for the monzas, may still get the Montys as well. I've sent you a PM Roop!

However, whilst I used to new clips from the fitting kit, it only came with one screw (when it was supposed to come with 3) so I had to use the screws that were the originals (see pic) which stick out a bit...

Looks class mate, these cars really need a bit more roof length at the back to look their best. Really like it!

Seriously shiny as well 8)

Thanks guys!
Most of the mods have been exterior (lights front + back, wheels, mudflaps, tints, spoiler, exhaust, chrome handles & numberplate surrounds etc) but inside I've replaced the tax disc holder with a twist off brushed aluminium circular holder (SEE Pg 2 for pics), have Ripspeed mats down (standard black but with brushed metal "ripseed" logo on the corner about 15cm, I've replaced the standard cassette-deck headunit with a single-din face-off system which plays ipod/usb/aux/cd/radio/SD. Most of the exterior is finished now (maybe colour code black bits and put angel eyes in the front) but internally I'm still looking do get some stuff done

Gave the car a wash, claybar and wax, using machine buffer. Unfortuntealy these snaps came from my blackberry not a decent camera so doesn't look as shiny as previous pictures!

Hi mate! Welcome to the forum! :D
I'm lucky as I bought the car in pretty good nick and paintwork was outstanding due to low mileage etc....I've just started using Autoglym too, before was just the standard Turtle Wax. Using Autglym and just a lindt-free cloth as an applicator, I apply by hand (probably use far too much wax but hey) and then leave to dry for a couple of minutes then buff off my hand then use the machine polisher to bring out the showroom shine. I found if I used the machine polisher straight away the cloth on the polisher would get full of wax very quickly and as a result when buffing the whole car it would leave a slight haze on.

Hope this helps! Look forward to seeing your thread!

EDIT: I use a halfords machine car polisher.

*My 9n Progress Thread* - NEW LIGHTS

Post by JamieG172 »

Fitted my LED sidelights today from ultraleds, they are the 15LED minitower WHITE sidelights. However next to my Halfords Extreme Brilliance Xenon Bulbs they look very blue//make the headlight bulbs look yellow.

Do you think if I get some MTEC Super White they will be a better colour match? I wanted to get MTEC Cosmos Blue/White but they are not e-marked so no road legal.

Thoughts?
