Stupid fog light question

Post by bango690 »

I have just naught the honey comb grills and a pair of fog lights for me 6n2.
Question is, can I wire up so they come on with the side lights?

The wires are already there to fit into the back of the fogs yes, and are joined to your head light swtich, which if you are/were going to use them just for fog reason you would need a new switch.

I know with some cars you can get normal lights, that look like fogs, but not sure if you can with a 6n2

also agree mate its your car do with it what you want dont let us persuade you either way

the way i see it is driving with fogs on can get you pulled over if its not foggy and if a copper tells you to turn them off what would you do ? take out your sidelight fuse ?, then you have no side lights,

also i dont think wiring them up would be great for an MOT

basically what you want i think is to have fogs and sides on without having your mainbeams on ?

first thing you need to find out is... are they on the same loom, im guessing they are as they are both applied by the same switch so is it just a case of bridging a connection between earylu sidelight to late fog ?

by the way i know very little about car electrics, :D

Fogs and sidelights can be put on easily - turn to sidelights and pull it out one notch

Point to note is, it is illegal to use foglights when it is not foggy and there is a hefty fine for this too. A mate of mine was pulled recently for it

Plus, personally, I think people who drive with foglights on when its not foggy are bloody stupid in all honesty - theres nothing cool about glaring other road users

If you want to do it properly, get DRL certified bulbs from Hella and replace the fog unit completely with them.
