Locking Wheel Nut

Post by ywfan »

Hi all

I have just taken delivery of brand new 2011 polo 1.2 SE 5D GREY.
One week on, so far have been really pleased with it.
Drove a brand new golf 1.4 for a few days before taking delivery of the polo and the polo is SUCH a better drive!
Looks fantastic in metallic grey and a lot of fun, you can really throw it around, great gear shift and driving position, solid build.
Looking forward to great mpg.
I would be seriously unhappy if I chose the Golf, heavy and boring.

Anyway, I was looking for the locking wheel nut and cannot find it.
Any ideas where this is?

Do you mean the odd shaped nut on each wheel?

You can't see this without removing the plastic caps off each wheel nut. There's a wire hook for doing this in the tool kit along with an adaptor to fit the single security nut on each wheel...

Thanks for replys.
The 1.2 SE come with the standard 15" alloys, with a star shape in the middle.
Will have another look ( is it the long tool thing?)
Im sure its there, just checking eveythings there, dont trust VW dealer!

Bought it on current PCP deal.
Anyone done this before?
How did you find it?
Seems a good way to get a brand new car without having to finance the total cost of the car at the start.

I got the same, SE model in red 3 door on the 3 year free insurance, 3 year servicing deal!! My last car was on just the standard finance, I paid £125 a month for a Smart Fortwo 04 plate, I got it 2 years ago and he was beginning to get some problems so before I went and spent hundreds of pounds fixing him up I thought I would trade him in and get a new car.

It was such an easy transition from old car to new one! Im so glad I got a polo! My partners mum actually got a new polo the week before her and she was told to take the car back after 2 and a half years instead of 3 because it will still have warranty on it, still have its servicing so it would be worth more then trade it in and get a new one! So I think thats what im going to do too :D

Yeah its great, thats what I did. Although you are basically stuck with the car for the first terms of your contract, i.e you cant sell it and you have to pay a shed load of dosh to get rid of it before the agreed time period of your contract. not for everyone. I probably wouldn't do it again, the only reason I did this time is that work are paying for it. Sweet!

LOL. Are you sure YOU should be removing wheels !!!!!

It should be in the polystyrene tool holder under the boot carpet, with the spare wheel. It's just a nut with a squiggly cutout that will fit your locking nuts. Should be easy to find.

Exactlty! Will leave that to VW or AA!
Jus making sure there're there when the time comes, got little trust for car dealers.
Though did manage to bag set of VW floor mats and full tank of petrol on car deal.
