Re: Cornishdrummer's Progress Thread - front bumper (pg 15)
It had a few light marks on it already, then I knocked it on a pebbledash type wall reversing into my Grans Garage.
So I sanded it down - Masked everything up, 2 layers of primer, 2 layers of VW diamond black, then 2 layers of clear lacquer.
It looked fine untill I removed all the masking and so on, then it looked like I put wired shapes of black electrical tape on it.
As you can guess it looked $h!t

You need to blend the colour and lacquer by overspraying the surrounding panel area

Least you had the balls to attempt it though, you only learn from trying stuff at the end of the day.
Are you going to take it to a body shop then?

Yeah I rang them today. The last car my old man got the person who owed it before hit it on the way to the dealer, and the dealer who we know used these people (thats how I got their number) and there work is spot on.6N2 GTI 00 wrote:Least you had the balls to attempt it though, you only learn from trying stuff at the end of the day.

Was told it could cost about £150.00 depending on what the damage is like and what needs to be done. So my plan is to pop down there this week for him to have a look at the damage and give me the price.
Something needs to be done coz it ruins the look of my car

Great stuff mate. That glaze is incredible. Just make sure you leave it on long enough to haze so you get the best out of it.cornishdrummer wrote:More Goodies
