Either

1 - your thermostat isnt working

or

2 - your radiator switch has had it

or

3 - the radiator fan fuse has failed.

What year is your GTI?

Rad switch is located to the the right of the radiator if you are looking down onto it

How hot is it getting?

I'm going with blocked rad, airlock or failed waterpump

Have you checked the fan fuse?

If your doing the pump, flush the system out - disconnect the two rad hoses, and stick a hose pipe in the top and see how easily water flows out the bottom.

Overcooling mainly. The water is always circulating through the rad, so it takes a long time to heat up, and wont stay hot as when you move off, itll be instantly cooled again

Can do damage, plus will drop your economy

Fit it asap
