Right they have got back to me but its not looking good :(
Here is their reply

"Hi Ben
Sorry this part is not available it should have been deleted.
There is possibility of a one off with another maker who has the old tooling Leave it with me please for a week
Thanks Julian"

We will just have to wait and see now lads

If not we'll have to go for the Neuspeed Rear ARB which is more expensive

Im not 100% sure it will fit but that looks like the only one available at the moment

28mm does sound a little weird though considering the Whiteline for the GTI is only 22mm.

I'm going to just wait and see what Julian comes back with at Balance Motorsport, if they still have the tooling then they can still be produced.

Just sent the guys @ BalanceMotorsport an email. Their policy is to reply to all emails within 24hrs, so here we go :)

UPDATE:
Hi Laith
it's officially unavailable but I've still not had a reply from the old factory to see if the tooling still exists
So i'd not want to give any hope at this moment
sorry

28mm is truly overkill for the Polo. I spoke to Awesome GTi earlier on, and they were adament that the neuspeed 28mm that they sell will not go on our 6n2 polos without some modifications, as one of their staff has a 6n2 gti and they put it up on the ramp and it would not go on successfully :(

Something I've been looking into myself over on the SCN forums. It seems, the 25mm Neuspeed bar should fit with a couple of brackets to adapt it to the Polo/Ibiza chassis.
At £160 it's a fair bit cheaper too I think, although I can't remember what the price balance was charging was.

IF I've understood correctly, then the Ibiza/Golf bars should fit with the aid for a bracket which can be bought off Bill@Badger5 for a few quid. Dunno if that's of any use to anyone or not?

Few posts I've found:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpos ... ostcount=2

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthr ... t=arb+25mm

"Neuspeed Mk2 Golf fitment ones fit ibiza front and rear ARB just needs simple L shape brakets to adapt to the narrower ibiza/polo rear beam."

the standard ibiza spec eibach bars (which f2stu has) foul on the rear chassis rail as they mount directly to the lower damper bolt, whereas with the mk2 bar, it hangs from a droplink bolted to the rear beam, a sort of extenstion if you will, which is how neuspeed approached fitting there thicker bars on golf mk 2's.
We can fit 25mm ones without having any issues, according to the SCR lot. However I've just noticed the link above is for the FRONT Golf2 ARB, and not the rear which is what we need. (Unless fitment is exactly the same, which doesnt make any sense to me)

I've emailed Bill@Badger5 per TriggerFish's instructions. If this all works out, this 3yr old group buy would have finally pulled through :)

My bad!

That's the 25mm one. Comes with the front too, but that's the proof they exist.

Edit

Or from balance:

Or even, would these do? Thinner, so more suited for the Polo as far as I can make out. That said, not sure if ALL mk II Golf things fit, or just a few. :?:

Going to talk to Julian tomorow about the whiteline mk2 golf 20mm rear ARB. If that has drop links, then it can be used for our polos, with badger5's L-brackets. (those cost £15+vat inc. delivery & bolts) The saga continues..
