Those wheels are going to look amazing! And a bit of stretch to carry on the wheel arches will look sweet :)

I was thinking about getting some Borbet A's after I lower my car and was wondering, Id need to get the same tire size as you im guessing as they are 16" as well?

Loving the new wheels Matt, I bet you cant wait to get cracking on the refurb now.

Reference the Tyres the 195/40/R16's should be spot on, thats what I run on mine and the RXII's are only 6.5J

Yeah you would have a nice stretch on yours but it would still be practical.

The 16" RXII's are off the MK3 anniversary edition Golf GTI's which run 205/45/R16's as standard so I suppose I am running a slight stretch but it isnt really noticeable.

195's are perfect for 6.5/7.5J wheels :)

Cool thanks Ben. They have 195's on at the minute and look slightly stretched but are on a 45 profile. Can't wait to get them on. I may wait until the winter with the refurb and just use them now 8)

Pretty annoyed with this bloody pile of s**t today. Nothing but problems. AGAIN! List of what needs doing:

- Insurance at the end of the month (Quoted around £800)
- Full Service needs doing
- Cam belt needs replacing
- Water Pump may as well be changed whilst im there
- Coolant temp sensor (On back order  )
- 4 new tires for the RC's (may have to wait)
- Coolant temp sensor for the 6N2 1.0 :(

Just drove home now and it seems like the off side CV joint is going!!!! It is either that or the wheel bearing. On full lock it will go knock knock knock knock knock :(

So add to the list:

- CV joint (hopefully)
- New Boot again

Just taxed it at £215!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can tell im really enjoying being a Polo GTi owner at the moment

Been there......

But once its done you'll love it again. Mine's staying for as long as possible, might buy a trailer for it instead of getting a work van

The knock knock noise does sound very much like a CV joint mate.
Dont get too dishearted though matt, we have all been there too.

I got to work this morning only to find a massive split in my tyre wall (almost brand new tyre as well) :(

Will spend a few days at work on it next week and get it back up to working condition. Maybe even get some new rubber :)

sorry to hear of all the problems. really sucks when things go wrong/money needs to be spent on unfun things (eg.tax) specially when it all comes at once!

compare them to say a saxo though, they dont even really last longer than 5 years before they are fit for scrap, these polos are getting on a bit but they are far from headed to any scrap yard.
