Cornishdrummer's Progress Thread - MAJOR Problem (pg 17)
That happened to me then I was driving and boom the top fell all the way back and the chair was f****d !. I just borrowed my mates as he got mk3 Recaros only solution before it goes completely is to get a new seat mate,

depending on how lenient your mot garage is, they could be sound and say its not that big of a deal. On the other hand if the guy gets in and the back slips away on the seat he could say its unsafe in the event of a crash.

It dont go all the way back, only a little on the left hand side.
I have found out what the problem is now as well.
On the back rest of the seat the part where the turning knob is to move the back rest up and down has come clean away from the rest of the frame.
I dont know if it can be weld back together or not.

Try a diy job just for the MOT. Loads of cable ties or something. You just wouldn't want the car to fail over something so small.

You got a pic of whats wrong with it, coz mine only needs welding.
