HELP + ADVICE NEEDED

Post by SWDUBBER »

Hi ive got a 95 reg polo 1.3cl, its going to sound daft but its true. When looking at the car head on the passenger side wheel/hub is further in the arch than the other which makes it look really ugly and buying spacers impossible lol.. Maybe its been in an accident or something i dont know, does anyone know how i can go about fixing this or is there something simple im missing??
Someone please help lol, thanks

I don't understand what you mean? You saying your wheel is basically sitting diagonally in the arch?
Like this:

like a slight camber just on one side?

Id take your wheel off first dude on both sides and see if the hubs are sitting in the right places inside the wheel arch. If they are then its a problem with you wheels as the gent says above, one of the steels/alloys is either likely to be wider than the other or once will have a lower offset than the other causing it to sit in a different place in the wheel arch.

If the hubs are sitting in different places then its likely something to do with your arb/wishbone, someone could have caught the wheel on a kurb etc and bent the wishbone/arb. An easy way to tell if this has happened generally the wheel will also have positive camber so instead of sitting vertically like this

I

The wheel will sit like this

Nah it's not the camber, my camber is off anyway from lowering it and all my alloys tyres etc are the same and match up.. @Monkeyman yeah that's what I need to do it looks like the whole like driveshaft has shifted but on the good side it looks like it's alright comparing it to other polos.. When I get back to my computer I'll post up a pic. How do I post up a pic like RiPolo6n whenever I do it it just sends a link to my imageshack. Cheers
