Bit more bad luck yesterday :( thanks to a nice double decker bus

Image

Broke the glass, Servo arms and the plastic cover went down the road so a bit scratched up :(

But managed to get one sorted today. Whole thing for £15. Although i need to get the old plastic cover sprayed up again and swap them over. This is how im riding at the moment 8)

Right then, slowly getting through some of the cars problems:

Today i have fitted the red mirror cover back on and fitted the new temperature sensor (finally  ) So far so good. Vagcom'ed it and removed the codes. Went for a drive and the only one left is this:

17935 - Camshaft Timing Adj. Bank1 (N205): Short to Ground
P1527 - 35-00 - -

Not really sure what this is. I am doing my cam belt, tensioners and water pump soon so whilst im there i was wondering if there is something i need to look at RE: this code. I guess that there is a cam shaft position sensor somewhere. Is it the green plug on the top right of the rocker cover (front of car)? Could this sensor have also given up the ghost? Want to get it sorted so any help would be great thanks :)

Gutted about the mirror mate, as Neil said bus drivers just dont give a s**t!
Least you have got round to fixing it quickly which is nice

Sounds like you could possibly need a new Camshaft Sensor mate, they are located on the right hand side of the rocker cover

Short circuit to 0v,id take the sensor out and give the terminal a good clean up and make sure the cable is not damaged anywhere.Reconnect it and see if the fault is still there,if so try replacing the sensor.

Its likely to have just died internally. The contacts on the new sensors dont foul up as they are 'sealed' as such

Sorry to hear about the wing mirror :( A chap decided not to give way when he should have done to me once (a common thing here) and he knocked my wing mirror nice and hard. I stopped but he put his foot down and quickly vanished.

Least it's Sorted, and it's good to hear that you've sorted some other things out :)

Been doing loads of insurance quotes the last few days but have gone with Adrian Flux for £719 which i don't think is too bad. Only 3rd party fire and theft though. Hopefully next year when im 21 i can afford some fully comp insurance
