Stuck, need advice/help

You cant remove the bulb from the dash - its an LED. Itd need taping over or something but that isnt a fix at all mate!!!!

Scan it with VAGCOM and post up the fault codes asap.

I know its not a fix, its an MOT passer though.

I'm almost 100% certain that the code logged will be -

"2 Faults Found: 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 35-00 -00287
ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 16-10 - Signal Outside Specifications - Intermittent"

This is what i cleared after mending the sensor,

will check tonight

04-10 - Mechanical Malfunction - Intermittent

Hot off the press exactly as i sodding thought.

Why, why, why do i keep getting this code! Mechanical malfunction? its brand new!!

To add to my confusion it truely is intermittent, for example one thing that upsets the job is doing a u-turn to the right - weird!

Or it will just randomly occur under light breaking after driving for a good period, no rhyme or reason!

Leave it with me. Ill put it into ELSA (VW workshop manual) and get the official error description

I've got a feeling the sensor has slipped back from the tuning wheel, i.e. its not sitting directly over the top of it.

I had to JB weld in it and i reckon this explains why its very intermittent.

Re-seated the bastard and, touch wood, it seems ok.

Also, this time i had vagcom so could spin the wheel to check the reading.
