Yeh you need a wiper removal tool in some cases. I can remember needing one on a mates 9N3 a while ago, never bought one in the end so left his after. Didn't need one for my 6N2 though.

I'm going to see if I can find a clamp or anything similar that'll do the same job, and if no joy just buy one, which you'll be welcome to use!

Yeh for sure mate! I wanna get a few things sorted before the next shoot (namely calipers, lights and wiper), but we'll look to do one in about a month?

Hi Tim

I'm liking your GTD :D Made me think of the Golf GTD at first when I saw the title :P
I also have the lower honeycombe grilles on my Polo and I think they look much better over the slats.
Do you mind if I ask how difficult it is to replace the gear gaitor and handbrake lever? I've bought the GTI ones and want to fit them but I'm a real newbie so any help will be appreciated :) Thanks

Hiya mate.

Aye that's the plan! The badge comes off the Golf.

Both easy jobs. On the handbrake theres a little tab of the underside, lever that out with a screwdriver and it slides off.

With the gear gaitor, gently pry the gaitor off the car and turn it inside out effectively. There's a bolt IIRC, just unscrew it.

UPDATE:

These are now on the car:

vinyl red clusters.

I was hugely disappointed with how they looked at first. There was just something about the block red which didn't look right.

After being on for a week they've really grown on me, but they're still not right. I'm going to cut the bottom clear block out to break the block red up, which will look really nice IMO 8)

I cut the bottom out of the rear light vinyl and it looks soooooo much better. This is what I wanted all along (I just didn't know it!).

Here's what they looked like before:

before versus after:

Then I cleaned the car and took some proper pics of the new lights:

They look so much better than the tech chavvy OEM ones IMO!

What are people's thoughts?

No problem mate!

I forgot to mention, picked these up today:

And finished my handles:

Turns out the sunvisors are £54 each :(. So not sure what to do with them yet, want to keep them OEM to the 9N3 as they interact with the light....
