Coilovers and 60K service cost

Post by Ladiesman_317 »

Helloooo everyone, Ive decided to get coilovers soon, but theyre cheap crap raceland ones, unfortunately there all i can afford atm.
I live in a really crap road with alot of potholes, so i dont particularly wanna slam the car, but im looking for a drop of 40-50mm, which leads me onto my main question, will a 50mm drop, make the driveshaft and arb rub?!
Also, how much does a 60k service cost at a specialist garage and a VW garage?
P.S i drive a 9n 1.4 16v Sport 100, with 16" Montreal 2's on 195/45/16
Thankssssss

If you haven't ordered them yet my advice is dont save your money for ap or something the shocks are no gd I know 4 people that got these and the shock were broke after 6 months. As for ride hieght it should be ok.

Really?!!! I thought there was a big buzz for ap's, recently noticed a lot of people talking about them. Only going for the racelands cause their dirt cheap and I personally wouldn't spend over 200 for coilovers on a polo unless its a gti. Many would disagree, but i'm a student so gotta save the pennies haaaa. But yeah thanks for the heads up. Also, at what height/drop do you experience this "rubbing"?! Lol
Thanks again.

Skorry not put my punctuation in makes that confussing I have ap coil over and have no problem of them. It's the racel d ones that break. As for rubbing I have lowered mine at least 100mm and only rubs on full lock over a bumpy bit of road.

Save your money and get ap. They do the job and don't suffer ride comfort too much
