Side Skirt - Pics Added

Post by wildcars »

Hi guys,

I've already fitted the front skirt onto my Polo GTI..

Part number is, 6R0 071 609 GRU

But the Polo itself has a black gti skirt on the side, which matches the new front skirt with the black insert in front.

But my question is, it does seem a little lower in front than the side, should i buy the side skirts, part number, 6R0 071 685 GRU.

Or leave the black side skirt as it is?

I had the front spoiler/splitter fitted when I bought mine and have not fitted any other parts as it looks just right as it is and there is no need to fit these as the GTI already has small side skirts. Post some pics so we can see what it looks like.

I will take some pics tomorrow during the day..

But ya, some tell me that it's cool, don't do anything else.. Cause the OEM skirts don't really look that nice..

But some say that i need it to finish it off..

But will post some pics for everyone to see..

I think it looks great as it is 8) doesn't need the body kit side skirts as it already has the GTI skirts :D If you add the side skirts it will detract from the GTI styling.

I like the look of the front skirt but in my opinion, as soon as you see the car in profile, especially with the GTI stick on sill addition, it needs the side skirts fitted which will then possibly lead to needing the rear skirt but I don't believe this fits on the gti bumper....

Unfortunately there's non rear skirt for the GTI..

SO i guess the front and side will have to do for now..

As an option you could try the BlueMotion skirts as these are not as deep as the body kit skirts and this might help blend the front spoiler in better with the back GTI rear bumper? You could also try and either fit the GTI skirts on top of the BM skirts as these have a rounder profile similar to the original sills or paint on the black GTI skirts to the body kit to try and preserve the GTI look? It might look good and might look bad but worth considering some options :D
