Been on here a few weeks now, so thought I would share a few pics. Nothing too spectacular, lowered, spaced and grille swap, for my 1.2 TSI. Just waiting for Revo to pull their finger out and it will be remapped !!!
The "T" and the "I", are obviously from the (G "T I") badge. The "S" I just got off Fleabay !!!!!!!!!!!! Looks pretty damn good, I must admit !!!
I'm not usually into ripping off the GTI, as I have mostly had a Golf GTI of one sort or another over the years !! But the grille just makes such a diffrence to the whole front end, I just couldn't help myself !!!!
The grille is a 2 minute job mate and anybody can do it !! just give it a really good tug !!!!! (The grille I mean !!!).
My chrome SEL one is up for grabs if anyone wants to buy it ?
EDIT****
Alex, when/if you do remove the grille, there are some locating lugs along the top, I slid a blunt knife (dinner knife) up to dislocate the lugs, then give it a tug. Sorry, forgot about this. But you'll see what I mean if you take a look.

Lowered on H&R 25/40 springs, 15mm spacers all round. I had to use some 3mm shims on the rears as the hub seems to stop the hubcentric spacer sitting flush, but they are fine now.
The spacers are all alu hubcentric ones from "The Zoom Room" on Ebay, £100 for 4. Great quality, very impressed with them.

Cheers mate, seriously contemplating it at the end of the month. Where the 'GTI' badge goes, is it just a flat surface? Would it look pretty gash if I was to leave it blank?
The GTI badge sits on a removable piece of flat plastic. I had planned on leaving the area blank myself, but when you remove the badge, the grille honeycombe behind is filled in with plastic. My original plan was to use a dremel and just cut them out leaving holes like the rest of the grille. But then I just had a minor brainwave and decided to just stick a TSI badge on there instead, a lot easier to do !!!!
So the question is " How good are your Dremel skills !!!! " Just leaving the original GTI badge backing would look silly IMO and not OEM enough for my liking. Just do it like mine, the more around then the more it looks factory !!!!!
Been scouring the net and found someone else with a white 1.2 TSI in India that happens to have done the same! They have used a ABT badge instead, which is available in black which could be an option just to cover it without it looking ridiculous. I really want it blank without any badging but 1, I don't have a dremel and 2, I wouldn't attempt it even if I did
hey B1N9S,
i'm thinking of getting the same springs as you but the 35-55mm's, do you think yours are low enough or do you think you could go a bit lower?
