Hi, i am aware that this is such a dumb question, but oh well.. lol.
I've recently noticed that my key does lock/unlock the car unless I'm standing right next to the car itself. so i'm thinking of changing the battery inside the key, but how hard is it? is there a time limit set, where it will lose its memory if i dont do it in 30 seconds?
ALSO, does anyone know how much it would cost if i went to the dealers to get it changed? (im abit of a retard, when it comes to dealing with electrical equipment)
thankssss.
Changing the battery in the key fob.

Re: Changing the battery in the key fob.
Pop to your dealership, the batteries you buy are only a few quid and they usually fit them for free. This is what I did a year or so ago expecting to be given some BS story about re-synchronising the key but apparently it's a simple change.
If the above ideal story is no longer true, from memory you can buy what you need from any watch shop; 2x CR1620 lithium batteries. I just went to VW first to see what the charge (geddit?) was and ended up getting it done there.
Hope this helps!

I may well be wrong, I just did a quick search to remind me of the type. Crack open your key fob and have a quick look at the batteries, VW may have clumsily printed the battery type on them!

Sometimes you can find instructions on youtube

Good find, I'll remember that for next time. Good shout on getting the C2032's Ladiesman!
Sorry about that.
