Re: Nigel's GTI - My Horn Aint So Horny
I thought I could do it with my small hands, but nored6n2 wrote:nigelelliott394 wrote:If you are planning on doing this, take Neil's advice.. you DO have to remove the lower dash. It's pretty much impossible to fit it without doing so.
Mine should have arrived today and I will hire a little chinese boy with small hands before I start taking my dash apart

Re: Nigel's GTI - Type 99 Relay
Here's the result of fitting the relay...

Not much fun
Had to take the bottom half of the dash out like Neil did.
Unscrewed and moved the fuse box to give myself a little bit more room too.

The relay finally in place.

What's the number 95 and the one next to it ?. Mine doesn't have them but then I don't have a GTI.
Oh and look...

Wierd that I could fit mine without taking my dash out and my hands are quite large :-/
Great little mod

Ouch!! That look like that hurt!
Hmmm I wonder with my girlie little hands if I could do it. I had to stick my hand down an airvent of a mk3 polo once to grab a dropped screw ha
Great little mod tho. Very useful

Component and/or Version: Radio BNO 0004
Software Coding: 06403

Any ideas? I tried clearing them but they appeared again immediately. The radio just doesn't turn on. The buttons light up, the display does not... the LED flashes... but it's unresponsive.
This happened last night just as I got back in to my car and was tuning in my iTrip.

Check the wires to the front speakers, if any wires are damaged it'll cause it to earth out, giving no sound.
And this can cause the radio not to work to protect itself.

Replaced the fuse on the back of the radio... Worked after that but I'm not sure for how long.

Re: Nigel's GTI - Oil Light Flashing and Beeping
Last night after I started the car and started to drive off the Oil light came on, flashed a few times and beeped at the same time. The oil level is ok, between half and max. Is this an indication of low oil pressure?
Re: Nigel's GTI - Possible low Oil Pressure? :(
faulty oil pressure switch, few quid from gsf, its located at the bottom of the top of the engine its a green plug with a big nut to undo it
Re: Nigel's GTI - Possible low Oil Pressure? :(
This isnt me being a VW whore, but please get switches from VW. (TPS is fine obv.) I've had endless amounts of grief with gsf-supplied sensors.Bepe wrote:faulty oil pressure switch, few quid from gsf, its located at the bottom of the top of the engine its a green plug with a big nut to undo it
