Where art thou mboyle4 ?

Post by red6n2 »

Right I've tried looking for mboyle4's progress thread maybe it's been deleted ?. But I remember that they had dotz also and changed the centre caps I think it's 60mm I need but I wanted to confirm with them or the progress thread.

This is how lame my memory is I remember the login name perfectly but not what I actually want to know lol.

I will measure my own but I'm stuck at work at the min.

I'm here! I do occasionaly pop back on here since selling up, infact bumped into a gti owner the other day in ASDA and complemented him on his car. I do miss mine when I see them. Having said that though my rx8 has been fantastic, ultra reliable and I do not regret selling. As for the wheel set up on the gti I had Dotz Mugello 16" wheels with 60mm caps the same as these:

With Vw emblems like these:

You could go for wolfsburg ones though like these:

Ah I wasn't sure weather to measure the face or the actual clip bits diameter so it definatley the 60mm face diameter I need ?.

Shame I haven't seen any 60mm vw caps.

Also the dotz centre caps are they just banged out from the inside ?.

Appreciate the help :-).

I purchased some 60mm vw caps for my dotz wheels but they didnt fit/clip in correctly so I then purchased the plain Dotz caps the same ones as that link I sent you, then just simply stuck on the 60mm VW emblems for the caps. The dots caps just bang out from the inside mate yes. What wheels have you purchased?

The same... 16" dotz swapped them for my original SE alloys and £150, I heard that replacing centre caps on dotz can be a bit of a pain so wanted to ask you and now I have my answer

I'd much rather have vw centre caps and if this is the only way I can have the. This is what I shall do

Here's a pic

Thanks again.

Seems strange, im sure that's what I ordered, would they perhaps glue in place? Was a while since I bought these so the specs may have changed a little on them mate.
