9n Engine Upgrade
Hoping to get a bigger engine for my polo, just wanted to know what can fit, what some of you have done and where i can get an engine from. Any info will be a massive help.
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
the only real engine upgrade worth doing for power would be a 20vt 1.8t from an audi tt but for the amount a company charges to do it u may as well buy a gti
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
Depending on your knowledge you could put r32 in. Prob be very hard work

Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
to be honest i was kinda looking for one that would fit right in. If the TT engine fits right in then that would be ideal
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
stick to the 1.8t turbo tt pot be done a few times from a few members and easily tuneable to silly bhp... !!!
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
1.8 t all day long. Get the TT one, if you wanted silly power new turbo, remap etc.
was thinking about doing this to mine but cba

Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
Have to agree with Dub_Dan! I considered doing this to my old 9n but with the hassle of finding a engine, ECU, and loom and then getting somebody to put it in for me pretty much put me off etc. So in the end bought a 9n3 GTIDub_Dan wrote:the only real engine upgrade worth doing for power would be a 20vt 1.8t from an audi tt but for the amount a company charges to do it u may as well buy a gti
If you are an experienced mechanic etc then prob worth doing it yourself as it would be much cheaper.

Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
Bro, personally i would save that money and buy a golf or an a3, whatever. Dont wanna burst your bubble, but unless your p*ssing money, it aint worth it.
9n Engine Upgrade
It probably would but if you read the add it's missing the turbo.kristafari wrote:http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2827532.htm
dunno if that would fit, anyone know if it will?
As everyone has said buy a Polo gti. It's not just the engine you would have to think about it's the brakes and suspension to handle it as well.
Unless your doing the conversion your self which I guess you aren't then I wouldn't bother. The money you spend on the engine, brakes, suspension will out weigh the benefits.
If you sold your Polo and added the money it would do to complete the conversion you would definitely have enough to buy a second hand stage 2 9n3 Gti that would be quicker, handle better and look better.
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
mate its a polo it will only ever be a polo me personally unless i had cash to waste youve got to think how much can you really spend before you could have gone and bought yourself a newer and better car...

Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
you guys need to stay faithful to your cars, sounds like while you are driving you're constantly wishing it was something else.
Dub_Dan actually once i have the right money it wont just be a polo :]

Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
Don't worry what it costs you. If I add mine up it around £7000 spent on the car bought it for £5000 but it don't bother me cos it's very unique spending more money on it as well in next month. Another £1000 to be added on I won't say on what yet
Re: 9n Engine Upgrade
what are your plans for the car mate? and ghumm im guessing it could be methanol?
