Car looks sweet mate, congrats. As for fitting the RCD510, i just did this the other week. To remove the trim, i used a thin piece of flexible soft plastic as a leaver, and started from the top, worked my way down popping it out, keeping it even on both sides. Just take your time and use as least pressure as you possibly can. I managed to get mine off without snapping it, so it is possible becuase i dont have the softest of touches  Also, the radio code isnt usually shipped with new cars now becuase the radio learns itself to the cars ecu. You can get the code by giving your chassis number to VW and requesting it. I think they said it could take upto 3-4 days to get the code from germany.

At this point, only the climatronic and RCD310 screen displays updted, most other changes were already done at MY11.5 status.

Tompit, would have been awesome if while you had the facia off to take a picture of the part number on the new climatronic disply, mine is continuously throwing a fault code (has done since I picked it up 3 weeks ago) and under the warranty, I am going to try and hit up the local dealer (not going to where I bought it from, nobody at that dealership will ever touch my car again!) for the new, updated climatronic unit as the replacement instead :)

So if you happen to get the chance....

the display looks nice if you can spot a part number that would be useful

my climate also keeps throwing up an error code my research found this was perfectly normal an their was no real fault

I did mine mate, it has 6 lugs located at the back, 2 on the bottom and 2 sets on either side, I used a scraper with a thin cloth around it so I didn't damage the piano trim.

My advice is by firm with it but if it feels like it won't come off try somewhere else first. I suggest you start with the bottom lugs as there the hardest to get off. Once its off its really easy just 4 torx screws.

Radio codes are a pain, you will have to go into the dealer with the car and radio and they will give you the code, I suggest you unplug the original radio, go to VW let them give the code for that unit then try it with them there as my dealership gave me the wrong radio code and I had to go back a 2nd time!!

I love my touch screen unit as my car has DAB and its awesome!
