Golf aero rear wiper - would it fit?
I've been able to source a rear wiper from a mk5 golf (which would also fit a mk4 golf.) As title says, would this aero rear wiper fit a 9n polo? It looks a little longer than the polo one, I'm sure the nut fitting is the same but I have concerns whether the tip of the blade would foul on the rear spoiler while wiping..

If a shorter blade fits it should be ok but a normal length will more than likely hit

Took the chance and bought it, I've got a 2002 polo so it had the old non-aero rear wiper but aero front ones
The whole kit was the same length (42cm from pivot point to end) fitted nicely with no need for Dremeling and looks much better. Keep an eye out for mk4/mk5 golfs on your next breakers yard visit if you want this simple mod!

This thread is worthless without pics!Ben90 wrote:Took the chance and bought it, I've got a 2002 polo so it had the old non-aero rear wiper but aero front ones![]()

Re: Golf aero rear wiper - would it fit?
I looked at dewipering it since my old wiper cap was faded and it needed a new blade, but in the end I went with aero as I prefer the look (and use) of a smooth wiper rather than no wiper.

Golf wipers are easier to source than Polo ones, so those like me with pre 53-plate 9ns can pick up one one of these. Some salvage mk4/5 Golf ones going for £16 on the Bay at the moment, that's where I got mine, 2 minutes with some Bumper Care and it looked like new.

Ah, thought the Golf ones looked different. Looks pretty much the same as the aero wiper found on the > '03 models. A definite improvement over the stock '02 wiper.
Is that the 86bhp model?

Re: Golf aero rear wiper - would it fit?
It would probably the very same if I compared part numbers..
Yeah it's the 86, would've preferred a 100hp for a little more poke, but mine will get around 47mpg on most trips sipping on Momentum 99
I'm considering a remap for better throttle response and MPG, must start asking around and see if it's worthwhile.
