Those chrome switches look really cool in fairness

The only downside is they don’t really fit in with the standard interior, I think you will have to pimp out a few other bits to accommodate them :)

How hard was the dremelling ??
Thank you :D
It was pretty easy. (....Only cos I've been playing with the Dremel a lot recently. Normally I'd be 'noooo ill brake sonething you do it' lol) It's only a tiny lip that just needs dremeling back a bit. It's all hidden so nothing unneat to worry about.
emma_88 wrote:Those switches look great. Can't wait to see them fitted. When you finally get them in you'll have to do a DIY Guide :)
Thank you Emma :D
Yeah I defiantly will do a guide thing, if people want me to (tho if anyone turns around and goes.... You know there was a much easier way to do that' then I shall have to kill em haha)

When in the door card they don't look to bad, there's the silver of the handle, the clocks, the button on the handbrake, ect, all minor touches, but they all come together quite nicely without being over the top. Tho adding the headlight switch, and the Wing mirror button would look even better with it.

14.07.2011 - Finally finished my wheels :D

Took longer then I planned, but I kept getting distracted :/

Sprayed each Bolt with Duck Oil, and two light taps of a hammer, then left them for 24 hours to soak.
The plan was to make them easier to get out, I think it worked, as I originally tried to get 2 out, which were quite stiff, but after I did the above the rest came out reasonable easily.
4 of the bolts were rounded off but we got a t45 and tapped it into the end of the bolt, and unscrewed them like normal.

Yum! Haha looks horrible

Rims
• Sanded down all the Rims, through different grades
• Dremeled out any of the curbing
• Wet sanded
• And then polished up using Wire Wool and Autosol
• Then polished up to a really nice shine using Meguries

Bolts Before - cleaned these up, using wire wool, Autosol, and my nails haha

Image

Bolts After - not perfect but looking a lot better

Image

Wheel Face

• Basically just sanded each face going through the grades
• Used a Dremel in all the niggerly places, that even my girly fingers couldn't reach
• Primered
• Painted
• Laquered

Just need to get the Other three Centre caps haha
And the plastic covers to go over the Wheel nuts
And onto the car they go!

I'm attually not much of a fan of car stickers, so it's probably the only sticker you'll ever see on my car haha. But I always quite liked the plasters for some reason. Its odd to think they're cute right?!

It's covering up one of my bumpers many paint defects....at least for now

Great job on the wheels Verity. Not a fan of the sticker, but each to their own :)

Thank you for all the replies guys! I'm gonna try and get them on today, meant to yesterday afternoon, but ended up going to a stunt show instead - I really wanna get a monster truck now!!

Chrisb- the paint I ended up using was; BMW Titanium silver.
I used spray cans, was about 1 can per wheel, they came out pretty nice considering they were rattle can sprayed, will defiantly do for my winter wheel anyway ;)

Well done on the wheels, you were quick to get those sorted, all mine are apart in the garage waiting for my lazy sanding arms to get into action.

I think silver was the best colour to go for suttle and looks oem best

Plastic bolt covers? I've never seen these for the polo, any links/ part no. I want some?

Also that red grill trim you got off that guy from club lupo, I want some, but can't get in touch with the guy 'cos i'm a new member, can't even get into the for-sale section of the site, any ideas?
