Re: Trotta's progress thread *.VOLKSFEST 1st PLACE WINNER=ME

Post by Trottagti »

Nothing much been happening apart from setting up my sound system and playing around with my mates nodus vag com computer, I have reset the throttle body as once you clean it or mess around with it your ment to reset it and I must say my response is crazy quick now. Also done my lights as they were on the floor just manually adjusted them and reset them and there much better.....

Deleted all my 02 sensor codes aswell. Propa little clean up ha!

Also I have seen you can instal the follow me home lights on our 6n2s and all you need is a code from Vw to put into a vag com and instal it by vag com. Simple as that really but I just can't find the code......

I need your help and il be the genie pig ha...

Look here....

After reading your title i thought you'd done the mod haha.

I'd be very very suprised if that is all that is required,i would imagine you would need some sort of Photocell somewhere for the car to determine whether it's dark enough for the lights to warrant coming on or not.

Still keep us updated dude it'd be all over it.

Im afraid you are wrong Craig...

Mk5 Golfs upwards require a simple change to get the 'coming home' and 'leaving home' lighting working

The Polo GTI has no light sensor, and even when the autodimming mirror is installed, the lighting sensor wiring is not used as there is no reason for it to be connected

If you want this to work, youll need to add a photocell sensor as brad says and the remaining wiring and timing circuit in order for this to work.\

As he says on the youtube video "if you have a place to have a light sensor that detects the presence of light ..."

I also think this is driven off an aftermarket alarm on the auxilliary output they have.

Can you have the lights come on when you unlock it anyway and turn off after a set time.. No need for the light sensor then ?

Or am i just being stupid coz i dont fully understand it

Youd still need a timer circuit in place for this to work, plus the polo does not have a central electrical module like the golf. The headlights and alarm are not connected in any way - everything apart from the windows is direct wired from switch to light

My sisters boyfriend has done two polo 6n2's tho on his modus.

Lights come on day or night he said, no need for the light sensor really if your not fussed, just his new modus machine can't connect to my lighting codes.....

My lights come on and off with his machine and set themselves etc, must be a way to do it...

Unless he is lying to me ha....bastard..

And the auto locking mph mod was wondering on this aswell.....????

Iv got a big old modus to play with just need codes n codes n codes n more codes ha...

Ahh you got me all excited, I thought some one had finally cracked it. Still goo luck with the research. Ive been dieing for that mod for so long, I try to tell myself that the interior lights coming on when you unlock the polo is cool enough, but when I get out and lock the golf, and walk up to my porch in a beam of light, I get so darn jelous that my car doesn't do it haha

I dont think hes telling the truth mate - or hes getting confused. Possibly thinking 9n2 instead of 6n2

Autolocking wont work on the 6n2 - again, no convenience controller and pneumatic central locking mean this wont work.

Where did you get the rear strut brace from and is it specifically for a 6N2 do you know ?

How you getting on with the pioneer head unit ? I just ordered one for mine, it looks like you get a lot of features for the money they cost.

I found an app on the app store called app radio by searching for pioneer, it lets you know which apps are compatible with the unit.

http://pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio

I need to get a holder like yours now, there is nowhere to put your phone in this car
