Will P/X for 4x100 16" alloys with tyres (no stretch thanks!) to suit b4 passat
THIS LOOKS BETTER THAN IT DOES IN THE PICS - Needs to go now I've got a b4 estate
Right then... mechanically, this car is my old GTII. I had a "mishap" last month in it, resulting in damage to the roof(!) so a total re-shell seemed like the way forwards. So, this has an EX engine (on a Weber) and no MFA, but the spec seems to be identical otherwise to that of a Scala. The DVLA have not been notified, so it's up to the buyer what they want to do/declare.
This car (in its old incarnation) was my daily driver, and was looked after. Oil and filter twice a year (only do 6K a year) and pretty much everything has been changed. Some during the re-shell, some this year, and the rest over the 3 or so years I've owned the car.
Brand new shiny stuff:
Front discs and pads
Rear brake lines
Fuel lines
N/S outer CV joint
O/S bottom ball joint
Good used exhaust centre section
Earlier this year:
Radiator fan
Last year:
Top mounts
Front springs
Carb rebuild
Filler neck, swirl pot, under bonnet fuel lines, fuel filter. Fuel tank removed and cleaned.
Starter motor
A bit longer ago:
Front shocks
Rear springs
Refurbed front suspension arms (poly bushed)
Refurbed front struts
New bottom ball joints
Back box (Walker)
New Weber carb
There's more, I'm sure!
Now for the body... I am not aware of ANY rot. There are a few rust spots up the driver's side, which I have bare-metalled, painted in "corroless" and rattle-canned over in green.
The bumpers are black. These are the bumpers off my old red car, as the internal structure of them was infinitely superior to those that were on the green shell... I'd rather not try to get a good finish with rattle cans of metallic green! (I've tried before on my Dad's Rover- suffice to say, it's not the best!)
GREEN BONNET NOW FITTED.
I'll make no pretence that this is the prettiest example - there're dings in practically every panel, but as it stands, it's a presentable car, and with a bit of attention to the body it could be really nice.
The pictures were taken a while ago, last time i put it up for sale... before I did the paint and changed the bonnet.
The only outstanding job is to connect the temp. gauge up. I've fitted an injection header tank, so the warning light works as it should (it's illuminated in the pics, as they pre-date this job)
There are loads of parts with the car too.
It's a real bargain - a proper, sorted daily 'rocco. If I didn't need an estate, i WOULD keep it.
I think that covers it.
