How to improve performance on 1.2 60 ps Polo?

I've found that missing 1st gear and going straight into 2nd helps, every time im in 1st it just "bunny hops" and it feels a tad smoother and slightly faster starting off in 2nd

I went from a 205bhp 300lbf astra cdti to my polo 1.2 60ps

I can honestly say I don't find it that bad. It won't set the Tarmac on fire but gets me from a to b and can still break the speed limit lol

I have had cars running almost 300bhp etc and for the extra in fuel road tax and insurance costs it ain't worth it

I couldn't agree with this more...I too am fed up of ever increasing costs, I don't know about you lot but having 200bhp under the hood here doesn't mean much when 75% of my time I'm sat in traffic *yay* such a waste...I don't think ill miss the power in my GT
