So my local VW dealer had special event on today, went down for a look and walked out with a practically brand new Polo
Chopping in my GT which has now done 55K, love the car to bits but it's time to move on and hop into a 5dr with our 2 person family looking to increase next year & service costs ever increasing on the GT. OK the new one won't go as fast but it feels so much more refined than the GT
Anyway deposit placed on a Polo 1.4 SE 5DR DSG in Nimbus Grey Metallic, should pick it up in about 10 days with any luck. Woo hoo!
Bye bye GT, Hello 1.4 SE DSG!

Nice one. When my car went in for works they gave me 1.4 dsg in a golf plus cracking little engine. Not bad power wise for that size car. So must be pretty nippy in the polo. Enjoy!

Re: Bye bye GT, Hello 1.4 SE DSG!
The wifes got a 1.4 SEL DSG and absolutely loves it. Whilst the 1.4 isn't the most powerful engine in the world, couple that with the 7 speed DSG with a much better spread of ratios than a manual box, and it's surprisingly nippy.
She got this after trading in her old 2006 Polo 9N3 Sport (which we had from new again), which also had the 1.4FSI engine but with the 5 speed manual box. Whilst both cars have esentially the same engine and power output, there's no doubt that the new 6R with the DSG box "feels" much quicker.
