Yeah good cheers mate :)
Absolutely love it if i'm honest, such a nice car to drive and it loves to be abused.

I do miss driving the Polo but in terms of actual driving pleasure the Type R is my favourite.
I bought myself a Tegiwa Carbon Airbox for it which is being fitted on Saturday and I just missed out on a Spoon N1 exhaust today :(

I also have a HID kit for it which will be fitted on Saturday, I will try and get some pictures and video's up this weekend for everyone to see.
This thread will have to be turned into my Type R Build thread now the Polo is gone :)

Hope everything is going well with your car mate?

Love the rumble of the scooby does it have a screamer pipe or is that just the turbo spooling?
Can't beat the squeal of the vtec though think one of these civics is gonna be my next car!

The spooling noise coming from the scooby is actually his induction kit, its a very free flowing K&N Cone and makes a very unusual high pitched whine similar to a supercharger. Its running around 330 bhp but is totally stripped out and it also has the short ratio gearbox so it absolutely flys :)

The thing that attracted me to getting a Civic was the set up and the noise they make, they are really comfortable cars to drive and with the gearstick being mounted on the dashboard coupled with the bucket seats it does make you feel like your in a track car. They really are great cars :D especially the EP3 Civic Type R's due to them having independant rear suspension.

Sounded real nice so much like a screamer pipe.

Been looking about at the moment spotted a cat d black civic with 24k on the clock for 2500 no chassis damage no suspension just cosmetic which I'd quote like to do myself give something a new life ;) watch this space :p realistically not for another year or two though I don't reckon

You wont be disapointed if you get one mate, that I can promise :)
There are some real good examples that go pretty cheap on eBay, especially the pre-facelift models (2001-2003).
Facelift models fetch a little more simply due to their age but you can get a really good low mileage 2002-2003 CTR for around £3K-3.5K now

The good thing about CAT D cars is the damage is never major so essentially its always repairable but the downside I guess is the re-sale value. Cat D's in general are very minor damage though, its the CAT C cars which you want to avoid.

Yeah that's what I've heard I mean thing is bit of tlc new bumper and light and that it would have beeperfect. And I've had y starter cars I think when I get that one Id be keeping it for a while. Being 20 the insurance is still a bit steep but for the power from them it isn't worth complaining. If you don't mind me asking how's he economy on overage on them?

Economy is pretty decent mate, I only run mine of Shell V Power like I did with the Polo and a full tank lasts me 2 weeks which isnt bad at all really. Its hard to tell what MPG i'm getting but I reckon I must be getting around 31 to 32 which is good for a Type R. It all depends how you drive it I suppose, if your revving it high in most gears then you can probably expect low 20's. They are decent cars on fuel though for a hot hatch, things like the Focus ST and Seat Leon Cupra R are proper juice gobblers in comparison

Absolutely love it mate, keep dropping it everytime I take it out just to hear the Tegiwa roar into life lol
S2000 would be nice but I understand why your keeping the Polo, yours is a stunning example and probably one of very few GTI's that has such high attention to detail. Its already a show winner so I dont blame you for keeping it :)

Those 700R Raptors are insane, they have got what 75-80bhp but weigh practically nothing so the Power to weight ratio is mental! They are pretty pricey though mate, £4-5K for a good one.
