Looks like you've been very busy mate! A thorough detail would make it mint..

How was the under-sealing done? and what sound deadening did you use?

Good job and look forward to seeing progress 8)

Great work Alex. I started reading your list, then skipped to the bottom to see the pics. Scrolling through that list on my phone took AGES..!!!

Doesn't look anything like how it started. Serious skills dude ;-)

It needs more work on the paint before a detail, but its getting there :)

With a brush lol. A mix of Waxoyl and Tetraseal was used depending on location so its fully protected for years to come thats for sure!!

Sound deadening was just from ebay. Same stuff nissan use as OEM fitment so its pretty thick pukka stuff. As for the bonnet, that was a rare Golf GTD part from Germany...god knows how it fell into my lap lol

Sweet! Nice little daily to keep the miles down on the golf then? sensible choice.. Have you got a link for the sound deadening?

I tried some flashing tape which didn't seem to cut the mustard. :|

Indeed indeed

Oh you are referring to sound deadening for sound systems?

This is the stuff to use

Excellent stuff - got it in the Edition 30 and it makes a great difference

Not necessarily for sound systems, just general road noise as such. Shame its so damn expensive- get what you pay for i guess!

Very true - lead flashing won't offer any deadening at all (unless you make it like 10mm thick which would weigh god knows how much)

Trust me...spend a bit extra and you won't regret it.

Didn't use the Lead flashing lol , i could barely lift it off the shelf- let alone pay the £120 odd for a smidgen of the stuff :P Went for some wickes stuff which was recommended to me, it did ok by by no means what i was looking for.

I'll add that to the list then!

Cheers tim. The stripe is a trial...possibly not permanent but we'll see

Distracts from the not so good paintwork on the arches for now at least!

I used to be a lead fitter for the restoration of historic houses and used led as thick as anything from 3mm to 13mm (13 mil was damn near impossible to work with) with nothing but brute strength a plastic dresser some tin snips and a spot welder to knock it into shape it's horrible horrible stuff but putting it in a car would be hilarious... It wouldn't move lol.

Just thought I'd share that :-)
