This is the black 3dr off eBay I pressume
very nice looking motor
Its a great price to be honest, you wont get a better one for that money based on the condition & mileage.
It also has a full service history which is a very good thing, make sure you checkout the cambelt history (inc tensioners) and ofcourse the gearbox.

I suggest you ask the seller of the car and especially the history of all the works that were performed.

Hey man, welcome along.
Have a read through this guide, really helpful - http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... =7&t=35521
On the gearbox issue, its a bit of a risk in my opinion. I think nearly everyone on here is on there second gear box, which is about £500 to recon.

3 Gtis, all around 80K and no gearbox issues.
Remember you mostly hear about the ones that have gone not the ones that haven't!

The gearbox are hit and miss. I have had 2 rebuilds in my silver Gti and one in my red one.
If they do go then it's still not bad £450 for a knew fitted box. Even after my issues with my last Gti when the time came to change cars I just brought a red one.
I love getting up in the afternoon and driving it like they were designed to be driven.
