1.4 TDI Turbo?

Hi guy,

my turbo is starting to leak a small amount of oil from what my mechanic has told me, anyone else had any issues with their 1.4s?
Also anyone suggested anywhere to get a refurb or a new replacement? The cars been great upto now, well its still fine but want to get it sorted soon and hopefully a remap after.

i have the same problem with mine, its leaking oil from the pipe thats connected to the the turbo.

not been driving as much as i now take the train to work so havnt had the chance to have it repaired.

posted on here about it before someone said its the oil feed line, however i still dont know whats wrong with it.

Ive got in touch with MidlandTurbo.com and they can either remanufacture it or repair your old unit..

"it’s likely we’d need to work on your unit you could be looking at a price ranging around £400 - £500+V.A.T for us to fully remanufacture the unit, or £185+V.A.T for us to rebuild it"

My friend at the garage will be removing it and MidlandTurbo come and collect then check it out for you and give you a price, hopefully £185.

I was tempted to get a 2nd hand one but don't want the same issue again down the line.

when he says leaking does he mean from the oil return, or as in past the seals into the inlet or exhaust? you will get a small amount in the boost pipes even with a relatively healthy turbo,
if its leaking from the oil return then it would be a small gasket which would be a pain to fit but only a small amount for a replacement and say an hours labour
