Quinnys candy white polo gti new pics added

Post by quinnygti »

Hi all, I've had my polo gti for about 6 weeks now so I thought id share my progress with you. this is the car when I first got it I travelled all the way from Peterborough to Aberdeen to get it. It has taken me ages to get a candy white one with all the extras on it such as the winter pack and climate control but im glad I waited as I love it now.
Image
After driving it around for a while I wanted the exhaust to sound louder so I bought a turbo back res miltek exhaust which was an arse to fit even at work on a ramp, removing the old exhaust was the hard bit as it is all one piece. I had to lower the axle to get it out.
Image
Exhaust sounds amazing, its like a standard gti exhaust when cruising but when you floor it it comes alive and really does sound nice. I then bought a forge tip and a forge inter-cooler pipe. Must say they are a pain to fit and required some trimming where it fits onto the intake side of the turbo but fitted spot on in the end.
Image
Heres a picture after both pipes are fitted

After driving the car for a few days, I noticed even without it being mapped, with just the exhaust and forge tip and a pipercross panel filter, it was quite alot quicker than my mates standard polo :D. Around Peterborough I have noticed quite a few white polos so I wanted mine to be different so I took my car to Totally dynamic in Milton Keynes and got my roof vinal wrapped in gloss black.
Image
Thats all I have done so far so next on the list is either springs and shocks or coil overs and get my wheels sprayed anthracite grey.
Next major mods
Forge front mount inter-cooler
3 bar map sensor
uprated injectors and fuel pressure regulator
pd 160
uprated brakes
maby a ko3 hybrid and then finally a stage 2 map :D

Looks a nice example, I really like the black roof.

I live up in Aberdeen, there are quiet alot of Polo gtis up here!

You should have just cut the standard exhaust to get it out, that's what most folk do.

Engine bay looks really smart with the red hoses.

Yeah mapping it will totally transform the car! No it's had a bit of work. The thread is up at the moment "joshs 9n3, speedlines" have a look.

I think you should leave them silver, black wheels on a White car have been over done. You could get the faces diamond cut. Think there are a few folk on here that have done it looks brilliant.

i am a big fan of the vynl roof, looks spot on.
as for the wheels, i think you should also keep them silver. looks cleaner that way.
and for suspension, save up for a decent set of coilovers.
i tried springs and cheap coilovers, but fully adjustable all the way mate

Why thank you :P Yeah go for something bit more original, and diamond cut faced/machined faced alloys do look fantastic. My alloys were machine faced until I got them refurbed. Maybe throw some BBS's on there, spacers, etc. We gonna do a deal for that diesel dump soon? :D
