Will these rims fit?

Post by klearu »

Advice needed! Want new rims as im getting old of the stock wheels which i got professionally painted.. the fronts will be fine as they are 7.5j and an offset of et25.. the rears im a bit worried about as they are 9j with a offset of et20.. dont really want to do any arch modds so wanted to know roughly how much they would stick out from the arch.. i cant really use the offset calculator as im not sure what the standard offset iss.. thanks for your help! below is a picture of my car as it is..

im guessing that will mean it would stick out roughly 23mm more then yours? Also, do you think tyre stretch would do the trick? As in allow the tyre thread to be cleared with the arch

i think youd probly be looking at a massive amount of camber. stretch will help but you might need to camber the rears

i think ive got myself into a situation.. ive brought the wheels and in simple words.. f****d! :O

So the easiest way to fix the fitment issue is probably to pull the arches..

Your running 19" wheels on a mk7 Polo?

I ran 17x8j et30 on my Polo GTI and it rubbed like a slut on the front when slammed. The rears were absolutely fine.

If you have to run excessive camber on the rear we aware that it may make the rear of the twitchy when cornering and hopeless in frosty cold conditions.

Don't want to be going through Walls backwards due to excessive camber lol.

i wont use it in the snow or frosty weather,it doesnt rub because the rims and tyres are the same diametr as the ones i had before, cos 205/40/17 is the same as 215/35/18 and the same as 225/30/19

If you look at this the overall diameter on the 225/30/19 is alot bigger.

im putting them on at the end of the month, for al my cars i have big rims, for my 300c i have 22", for my cayenne i have 22", so for my polo i have to put 19" the wheel will fit,the tyre has to be a 30 other wise no fit,and it has to be a 8,5, me and my mates are prof. car modyfiers we have a wheel shop and body shop, if the worst comes to the worst i will have to put 215/35/18

ps. we just put 18" on a lupo with a golf gti engine and it rocks
