Poorly gti

Post by bfc1882 »

Car has been running a bit rough last few days. Popping and farting on tickover when first started and even cut out after a few seconds yesterday. Generally feels a bit jerky when out and about and my mpg has plummeted. Last night my engine management light came on. What do you guys think the problem could be? My car is a remapped 2006 gti. Any advice would be appreciated

Sounds like its miss firing pal. Try changing Ignition Coils, or if you can get hold of VAGCOM, that'll point out which cylinders miss firing. Could also be spark plugs too.

You could try spraying some electrical cleaner through the centre of the MAF, on the sensor inside. Let it dry fully first before refitting. See if that makes any difference. Did with my old GTI. :)

Image came back with the following faults. This could get expensive. Garage reckon that the lambda sensor may only be faulty on first start up so just going to fix the other fault which is a valve letting air in. See how we get on and if it's still playing up I will get the lambda done aswell.
