Yeah fan belts the alternator belt isn't it? Do you take the belt off and powder it?

No no no no no..... Just powder it wilst it's running but clearly be careful not to catch sleeves etc on ya belts.. Light sprinkle over the belts will sort it...

Re: The Moose Mobile: Bonnet Bra????
I'm looking for a decent place to get a bonnet bra if anyone has any suggestions?
Maybe one like Trottas but black with lime green stitching.....
Tried autobra but they don't do what I want

Re: My GTI - What a Day!
Car broke down this morning on my way to work...... Worst feeling ever!
It lost all power and didn't fancy moving even though the pedal was to the floor!
Had to wait an hour to be rescued only to find the car was too low to get onto the recovery truck lol
= not very happy recovery man! Haha. So..... Recovery man had to follow me home chugging along at 10mph to make sure i got back ok = even more peed off recovery man!
Can't have it properly looked until Saturday so until then its bus patrol for me! Can't wait until she is sorted! Hopefully won't be anything major
In the meantime, has anyone came accross this diagnostic code before:
4082 - Bank1 - Probel electrical fault in current circuit

Re: My GTI - What a Day!
Gutted to hear it broke down Mandy, hopefully you can get it back sorted asap
Sounds like a vagcom error rather than anything serious, it had a ABS problem last year with the heavy snow and wouldnt rev over 5K, turned out to be just a couple of ABS errors and it was fine once they were deleted.

Re: My GTI - What a Day!
lol yeah I bet lowered cars are a nightmare for recovery trucks, its not often you see a german car being recovered though.
French cars are right at home on the back of a recovery vehicle
It took me a while to find a garage that could sort out the tracking on the Polo because it was too low for most places

Re: My GTI - What a Day!
Hahaha!!!
All cars have problems especially GTI's and the age it is too. I knew what i was taking on when i bought it lol and nearly decided against a GTI altogether after reading up on them.
I wouldnt change it for the world though
