6N2 Polo GTI - Engine Oil?

About to do an Oil Service on my 6N2 Polo GTI.

Now I do know the difference between the types of Oils, but what is the best oil to use?

Is 5w-40 Fully Synthetic or 10w-40 Part Synthetic the Norm for these Engines?

10W40 Semi Synthetic is the oil to use.

10w40 Synta Silver Oil can be picked up from TPS for around £13 (believe its a 5l can)

5L of synta silver costs me £8 at TPS trade price - retail stores are so overpriced for oil.
20L costs me £30 at TPS - puts it into perspective

Definitely does considering I paid £34 for 4 litres on my last change. :s
