Usually go on Club Polo quite a bit so thought I'd mix it up a bit and see what UK-Polo's is like..

Got my 2001 Polo 1.4 16v SE back in June and haven't been able to do a lot recently but I've done some bits and pieces since I got it.

Haha you got it in a oner mate! Yeah it's a 1.4 16V SE runs very well and have no problems atm just needs a service soonish... :D

Club Polo yeah it's good but it's just sometimes it takes a LONG time for people to reply to a small question but I like it just thought I'd see what other forums are like tbh. :o

Future plans - Wana get some more black in there maybe gloss black door handles and wing mirrors. If I could get a gloss black roof that would be amazing..

Another good upgrade would be to change the fog light grills & lower bumper grill to the honeycombe variety found on the GTI, a set of headlight protectors would look cool too :)

HID Kit maybe with LED sidelights? makes a big difference visually and improves night driving

My old thread is still in the GTI section mate but I sold the car in August, got a Civic Type R these days

Never thought the GTi lower grills were different only just noticed it now after you said!

Looking into some of the GTi lower grills atm.. found the fog light covers but not the middle grill underneath the number plate..

Tbh those headlight protectors look a bit weird to me I don't know why but it just kinda look likes your cars wearing glasses or something haha :P

Was going to buy a HID kit of my mate but it didn't fit.. need to look into some LED sidelights though they just on ebay?

Cool will try and find your old thread mate! Why did you sell the Polo then?

Yeah mate they are slightly different, the honeycombe grills look a little nicer than the standard Diamond type grills.
Give Volkswagen a try for the lower grills, they are quite hard to get hold of second hand so I would just try to get a new set from VW.

I know what you mean about the headlight protectors and I felt the same at first but when I got a set & fitted them I thought they looked quality.
They only cost around £7-8 for a set so its not much of gamble if you dont like them, they literally take 2 minutes to fit as well.

LED Sidelights and a HID kit make a hell of a difference, its worth upgrading your Full beams too.
You will need a H7 HID Kit (6000K looks great), LED Sidelights and H1 full beams (Osram Nightbreakers)
Yeah you can get all of the above from eBay mate

Here's a link to my old build thread
http://uk-polos.net/viewtopi ... =7&t=43941

Sold up because I wanted something a little quicker , loved the Polo though and its gone to a great home so I cant complain.
I had to change the gearbox in March and that made me look at some different cars, decided on the Honda Civic Type R in the end.

Bought some lower grills off `m_maybury' on ClubPolo! Loving them just need a good clean now...

Checked out your old build thread mate, car looks FTD love it! Got so much time for it!
