gti lowering ?

Post by jackwh999 »

hi new to all this but just a quick question, after driving a slammed saxo vtr for 4 months i chose to go for something german so i got a mk3 polo gti and was thinking of dropping it a bit. was wondering how much by and what springs to head for?

Hi Jack,

It’s actually a MK5 GTI that you will have mate known as a 6N2, some people refer to it as MK3 but in actual fact it’s a MK5.
The sit really high as standard due to curb laws in Germany but if you want to lower it without sacrificing too much comfort then get yourself some Eibach Sportline lowering springs, they give it a nice 40mm drop (roughly) despite being labeled as 50mm lowering springs

Here's a link to where you can buy them from

Hope this helps

No problem at all dude
The Sportline springs give it a nice look and the standard shocks will cope fine with a 40mm drop :)
Coilovers is the other option but you’re looking at £350+ for a decent set and as you probably know from your VTR a slammed car is pretty uncomfortable
