Hi all...I've got a small problem...
Sometimes when I start my car the revs don't stay high enough and the engine judders to a stop....almost as if it needs choke but it isn't being activated.
Strangely I don't have this issue in the morning when the car is genuinely cold (the choke engages), but it does happen when I start the car after a 9 hour day at work for example. It happened today after leaving the car for about 6 hours.
Also today the engine "Check" light came on the dash so I thought I'd best ask you lot for help!!
Any ideas what might be wrong with my GTi?

Re: Revs dropping off when starting...
Well I had the same problem.
I bought a VAGCOM lead off of ebay and every now and again I reset all the error messages and the car starts and runs super smooth after that.
Might not be your problem, could be ht leads or something else.
But this worked for me, could try get your local garage just to do a diagnostics check, if you can't be bothered getting the cable and software yourself.

Check your ht leads and spark plugs mate, or your coilpack will be really cruddy. But a vag com will solve your problems.. To Vw you go my friend.
