Reset service reminder but it now shows 5 horizontal lines

Post by panason1c »

Hi, My service reminder showed that i was due a service in 300 miles so rather than wait untill i covered that remaining distance, i changed the oil and filter today and i then reset the service reminder precisely as per the instructions in my handbook......hold the trip button in, turn on the ignition, turn the button to the right, etc.......... but now, when i press the button, instead of showing a scheduled 10k miles (or whatever) untill the next service, it just shows 5 horizontal lines...??

I've trawled the net and tried every combination of resetting the service reminder but all i still get is the 5 lines (when i hold the button in with ignition on)..

Any ideas please?

Bummer, I lived in Taunton till a couple of months Ago and could have put it on vag-com for you. I'm north of Birmingham now though.

If I were you I would get someone to plug it in and reset the service interval again with a machine rather than the manual way. It seems somethings gone wrong when you did it manually. A machine reset should resolve that
